Today is the BIG Day

This is at the Koy pond in the hotel. The fish are huge and Nathan loves to watch them!

This is of some Chinese people in the park. They are playing sort of game similar to dominoes.

Well... the phrase "takes like chicken" has a not-so good meaning here. These birds were hanging in the window. This was a restaurant that had live "things" in tanks in the lobby. You choose what you want, have a seat and wait. We will not try this. I am still looking for "Olive Garden".

There are people everywhere doing TaiChi, stretching, excercising and like here doing ballroom dancing. I wonder if they would be up for an impromtu Hip Hop class tomorrow. Hey, high school girls, I could always teach them Lose Control...I'm afraid they would send me home due to a mental disease, so I will not try it!

WELL, WHAT YOU GUYS ARE WANTING TO KNOW.......

Today at 2:00 pm China time we are going to receive our daughter, Kellum-Ann ChunYu Parker. And man is it about time. Here at the hotel we have had to watch other families with their babies for two days and it has been torture. When we had our meeting with our guide yesterday, we met in the Swan Room. This is a LARGE playroom for the babies sponsored by Mattel. While we were in there, so many couples and their babies came in to play and Nathan played with lots of them. After the meeting one couple came to us and asked where we were from, we told them Alabama... they said "we can tell, we are too!". We traveled 10,000 miles from home and met a family from Anniston! The mother taught Special Ed in Roanoke for awhile and the dad is best friends with some neighbors that I grew up with. God provided someone for us to relate to and talk with (for quite a long time). They shared their gotcha moment and told us how all the babies their group have been handling things. It was wonderful, they are Christians, as well.

After we get Kellum-Ann we will be emailing one photo to our parents b/c it takes a while to post here. Once Kellum-Ann is asleep, I will post pictures here! It will proboably be at least later in your morning. Please pray for Kellum-Ann today. I know that God has been preparing her but please continue, we want this to be as easy on her as possible.

I have began to purchase small gifts for each of her birthdays. We decided to give her something from her country on every b-day until she is 18. I have alot to go but I am working on it! We love getting the emails, so keep them coming!

Parkers!
I never use the computer much at home,just at work, but I am not turning it off! I can't wait to see more pictures. I am saying prayers all of you.
Kellum-Ann has no idea how loved she is in Alabama!! As a matter of fact you are all loved very much!!
It is so nice of you to share this journey with all of us.
I think the Hip-Hop class in China would be great!!!
We are going to Auburn for dinner, but I will check back later. Don't eat any of those birds hanging in the window - that is awful.
Hugs and Kisses from the Spratlins!
God Bless!
Tammy

Dear Vickie, Blair, and Nathan,
We are thrilled that the time is so near in meeting your daughter. I think it is wonderful that you are buying her little things from her county to keep her connected with her heritage and culture. She may not realize it for sometime, but in time she will appreciate that so much!!! I found this poem today (While Scrapbooking) and thought it was just perfect!

The Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there were two women
Who never knew each other.
One you do not remember,
The other you call mother.

One gave you a nationality,
The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
The other gave you a name.

Two different lives shaped
to make your one;
One became you guiding star,
The other became your sun.

One gave you emotions,
The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
The other dried your tears.

The first gave you life,
The second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love,
And the second was there to give it.

One gave you up,
It was all she could do.
The other prayed for a child,
And God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me through your tears,
The age old question through the years;
Heredity or Environment, which are you a product of?
Neither my darling, neither;
Just two different kinds of love.
