I Know...I Know...

They told us NOT to place the babies in the tub b/c it wouls scare them... well her big self would not fit in the sink so tonight I put her in with Nathan and they had a blast as you can tell!

This was in a department store at the mall.

Huge Mall and market

Inside the pearl and jade market

As you can see, God has blessed us!!!

I know... I know... everyone is wanting more pictures!Just to fill you in on how our last 2 days have been going, I'll sum it by saying I've had a 30 pounder attached to me like glue, I bairly got a shower much less turn on the computer.
After we returned from gotcha moment, Kellum-Ann took a nap and when she awoke she realized that we were not just some cool visitors that jumped at her every whimb... she realized that she would not be going home. At bedtime she grieved so hard. She was calling for someone, her nannie I suppose and it was hard to watch. The next morning she did great but it hit her off and on all day. I was able to cope pretty well until yesterday when Nathan started getting upset. Of course he did not understand, I really didn't myself but let me tell you... today was alot different. She did not cry a time all day except just now at bedtime. bedtime is really hard for her. As I said before, the Director told us that she was a favorite and was spoiled by the nannies so in my mind I feel that she probably had a special bedtime routine. well tonight she only cried for about 5 minutes instead of last night's 30. so we are making progress. I feel that we will have many more trying days but I know that she knows we are here for her and that we love her. At the moment, she will not have alot to do wiht Blair. He is ok in her book if I am holding her. She plays and laughs at Nathan and he feels alot better today. He tells me often that she is beautiful.
We went to the toy market, pearl market and jade market today so we were busy. Guess where we ate... Pizza Hut! It was wonderful!

Here are some pictures... hope you enjoy. Thank you for the emails I ahve read them all, please underatnad that I don't have time to respond to them now, but they helped get us through those rough hours. Sorry for the grammar and misspelled words, really tired tonight. We go for her medical exam tomorrow anad then to tour an orphanage.
Please pray for our plane trip home... i'm afraid it will be rough for her... but who knows, God is in this thing so He will strengthen us!

Vicki,

She is a doll!! Nathan looks like he will be a BIG help. Tell Blair not to be upset it will all happen in time. Remember that God does not promise that the road will be easy, he promises that if you lean on him he will get you through. Some of lifes greatest moments require a struggle. But in the end we reap the reward. Lean on God and all will be fine. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we enjoy seeing the love that you and your family have.

Blair, Vicki & Nathan,
The last thing I did before I went to bed last night was check the internet. The first thing I did when I got to work this morning was check the internet, but still no new pictures. Then...45 mins. later Cindy said "we've got new pictures". Of course everyone hurried to the computer. I know you are exhusted, but I hope you can feel the prayers being lifted up for you. So many people are praying for you. We'll be praying even harder for your trip home because that will be a long time on the plane with a small child. We'll pray that she will do good. Can't wait to see you. Lots of love, Rhonda

Vicki, Blair, Nathan, and Kellum-Ann:

We just wanted you to know how excited we are and can't wait for you all to get home. Shanna and Shalyn are being updated at school with Mrs. Parker. They have to tell me all about it. Of course, I tell them I check this website three plus times a day!

Kellum-Ann is absolutely beautiful! She and Ashley can dance their little hearts out! I can't wait for Ashley to meet her! I know it will an immediate connection. We all just want to hold her and love her. I'll go ahead and apologize now because I know Ashley will introduce Kellum-Ann to CANDY! Maybe she won't wake up in the mornings and ask for it like mine does!

Anyway, we are praying daily for the safe return of everyone. Blair, know this: little girls have a special bond with their da da that no one can break. Just be content to know your time will come very soon.

Everyone at church is eager too! We will see you when you get home!

Love,
Cindy, Shane, Shanna, Shalyn, Ashley

Parkers,
The pictures and info are wonderful. Jackie Whaley can't wait for you guys to get home. I loved the bathtub picture. Kellum-Ann does look so much like your family and you can certainly tell from all the smiles how happy she is. She will someday be so thankful that the good Lord chose such a wonderful family for her. I know God has had His hand on you all and has and will continually bless you all. Vicki, we sure miss your bright smile and positive attitude here at the office and with the updates, almost feel like we are with you in China. We will continue praying for every step in the journey HOME. I love you, Kim

Hi Vicki, Blair, Nathan and Kellum-Ann,
Lon and I think of you every day. I have showed almost everyone in the office the new edition to our family. We are so happy for you guys, that every time I read a post or something you have written or look at Kellum-ann and Nathan together I start to cry. Your family has something beautiful, and God has blessed you guys with many things. We pray for a safe trip home and we look forward to seeing you guys soon.
Love,
Catherine and Lon

Vicki, Blair and Nathan,
She is beauitful. And definately a gift from God!
I am so glad for you all. I must warn you that as much as Calvin wanted Joseph he has moments when he misses being an only child and would send Joseph back in a heart beat. But he still loves him. It takes a while to learn how to be a big brother.
I love you all and am praying for you. I can't wait to see her in person.
Love,
Kim Anglin

Dear Mrs. Vicki,

The pictures of your family are beautiful, and we have really enjoyed reading about your entire adoption experience on the website. Thank you for sharing this remarkable journey with everyone. It has been such a blessing to see your prayers answered in such a beautiful little girl. We are praying for a safe (and calm) trip home for you all, and will continue to pray for Kellum-Ann's acceptance of her new family and new home.

Hello all,
Blair don't be to hard on yourself about Kellum-Ann being distant, she has probably not spent much time around many men. Don't worry she'll be wrapped around your little finger before long. As you know girls have a special connection with their daddy. Patience is the key. Just remember you have your whole family behind you. We love you and hope to see you home soon.

Hi,
It was great talking with you last night. I'm glad things are better for you. She's a Parker now! We can't wait to get her home on the farm. Nathan, you are doing a great job! Oh, G-Daddy found two new baby calves yesterday. Number 17 and number 44 delivered. Wendell found them, too, when he fed them. So, add two more to your total. We are praying for your safe return. Take care and keep us posted. Love you,
Me Moma

Hi. Your experience is very similar to mine with Sylvie. She fell into a dead-sleep for about four hours in early evening after gotcha and when she woke up she cried for 3 hours straight inconsolably. I rocked her and sang every song I could think of -- so did my husband. After 3 hours or so (was 11 p.m.) she looked straight into my eyes, stopped crying, and hugged hard. After that she had some spells but not a lot. But I have no idea what Sylvie's status was in the orphange so I don't know that she was "a favorite." All the books say that if your child had a good attachment to a caregiver, she'll grieve hard, but attach well to you. So while the crying is difficult to hear it is a natural part of the adjustment.

Sylvie liked Steve right off, but preferred me. However, after the first day, Steve began feeding her at meals and this won her over. Start with him offering the baby snacks, goldfish, etc. and graduating up to meals. It worked for a couple in our group where the baby wouldn't got to the dad!! Just always take over yourself if she gets distressed. It'll work!!

Gina, mom of Sylvie, from suixi

mostly if we tried to get her to walk, feed herself, or especially changing her diaper.

Vicki, Blair and Nathan--
Keelum Ann is absolutely beautiful...even more beautiful than the healthy, content baby that I shared with you that I had in my dreams. Thanks so much for sharing your story with all of us. We have enjoyed so much checking for daily updates. However, we get personal updates daily from the "proud grandmother" each day at school. We can't wait to see her, meet her and love her.
I know she will be a great dancer, but we also believe she will be a future "Lady Cat" with Ashley!!!

We are praying for all 4 of you daily.

With love,
Robin, Larry, Trae, Courtney, and Leah
